Clearcomms Practice: Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how ClearComms Practice (“the Application,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles your information when you use the mobile application.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. Because ClearComms Practice is designed to be a local utility, we do not collect, store, or share any of your personally identifiable information (PII).
1. Information Collection and Use
1.1 Local Data Storage (Offline Usage)
ClearComms Practice operates primarily offline. All user-generated data and learning progress are stored locally on your device:
- Custom Alphabets: Any phonetic alphabets you create or edit are saved locally using the Hive database library.
- Practice Statistics: Your flashcard scores, accuracy rates, and learning progress are tracked and saved locally on your device.
- Settings: Your customized settings (Text-to-Speech speech rate, pitch, and language preferences) are stored locally.
This data is stored securely in your device’s local app storage and is never uploaded to any remote servers controlled by us.
1.2 Network Connectivity & Remote Assets
The Application requires an internet connection for specific remote assets and features:
- Predefined Alphabets Fetching: The Application connects to the internet to load and update predefined phonetic alphabets from a JSON file hosted at
https://ut2ubm.com/. - Outbound Links: If you click on the developer link in the home screen footer, the Application will launch your system web browser to navigate to
https://ut2ubm.com/projects/clearcomms_practice/.
No personal information, device identifiers, or tracking tokens are transmitted during these network requests. Like most standard web servers, the server hosting these files may automatically log standard request headers (such as IP address, user-agent, and timestamp) for security, debugging, and operational maintenance. This data is not linked to any personal user profiles.
1.3 Text-to-Speech (TTS)
The Callsign Practice mode uses your device’s built-in Text-to-Speech engine (via the flutter_tts package). The translation of text to voice is processed locally on your device. Please consult the privacy policy of your device’s operating system (e.g., Google Privacy Policy for Android, Apple Privacy Policy for iOS) to understand how system-level TTS engines process data.
2. Third-Party Services
We do not use any third-party services that collect your information. Specifically:
- We do not run advertisements.
- We do not use third-party analytics suites (such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or Flurry).
- We do not use third-party crash reporting tools that collect identifying data.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Since we do not collect any personal data, we do not share, sell, rent, or trade your information with any third parties under any circumstances.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- You have full control over your data.
- You can modify or delete custom alphabets and reset statistics directly within the Application.
- If you uninstall the Application or clear its storage data via your device’s settings menu, all locally stored data, custom alphabets, and practice history will be permanently deleted. We cannot recover this data for you.
5. Children’s Privacy
Our Application is suitable for users of all ages, including children. We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personal information from anyone. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with any information, please contact us, though our architecture guarantees that no user data is collected or transmitted.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the Application or on our repository, and the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document will be updated. Your continued use of the Application after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
